The donatations menu choice was a last minute addition. It simply gives
my mailing address from within the program. I put this in to deter
unscrupulous people from putting their name on my work and distributing it.
I wrote this program with Turbo C++ for Windows for a class I am taking,
senior project in CS. It is my first attempt at a windows program, and
I feel like it came out pretty good. The last 8 weeks or so of my life
are in this program, I just hope others can enjoy it.
The Spelling quizzer is geared for kids between 1st and sixth grade, to
help them with their weekly spelling words. It is pretty simple to use,
and for the most part very user friendly. The user.txt file, or the
on-line help should answer most questions.
Feel free to use The Spelling Quizzer for as long as you want, and
distribute it to anyone you want. If you find The Spelling Quizzer
useful and fun, please register your copy by sending $10.00 (check,
or money order). The only thing I can offer with registration is the
satisfaction of sending me (a student programmer) through school so I
can write more educational type software for you. Please feel free to
report any bugs you may find, or simply program recommendations. Ideas
I already have for upgrading this program are improved and more flexible
printer routines, an adjustable timer for putting time limits on responses,
tracking specific words missed, incorporation of bitmaps for positive
feedback to the student, putting in a word scramble game, and including
sound support (If I ever buy a sound blaster). Thank you for your support,
please send your suggestions and/or contributions to:
